Concussion CORPS offers internship opportunities to students in clinical sites, marketing, business, health sciences, athletic training, engineering, or other. We also offer project opportunities to youth suffering from post-concussive syndrome. Educational institutions in the area, community or national organizations who are interested in working with Concussion CORPS to provide internship opportunities are encouraged to contact us at any time. Interns thus far have worked on projects in education, marketing, medical management and research (see below).
a) Injured UCONN athlete produced video on concussion awareness; also participated in data entry for youth coaches study.
b) Quinnipiac Medical School Capstone Mentorship: Medical students develop a four year project concerning the education and care of children with mild TBI.
a) College students created a social media marketing plan for concussion screening and education.
3. MEDICAL MANAGEMENT
a) Physicians provide clinical shadowing opportunities for concussion recovery management to physicians and physician assistants.
a) University of New Haven School of Business, Management of Sport Industries: Graduate student and ATC conducted research project on concussion awareness of middle school and youth athletes.
b) College students participated in research projects with area concussion center focusing on post traumatic ADD, evaluation of King-Devick eye tracking speed and ImPACT Scores.
